Look what arrived in the mail today!

A little over two years ago, I started writing a book on the new HSC subject Enterprise Computing — the subject set to replace the (beloved) Information Processes and Technology (IPT).

Writing it was quite the experience. Juggling first year university with some pretty demanding deadlines pushed me further than I expected. I still remember hunting for the best mobile data plan just so I could squeeze in research during my commute. But beyond the logistics, the book taught me a lot — not just how to write for someone else to learn from, but also about content I was genuinely unfamiliar with at the time. I did IPT, but NESA seemed intent on distancing Enterprise Computing from it; there was only around a 50% overlap between the two subjects. Like did you know Sydney Trains uses weight sensors in each carriage to calculate braking distances — and those same measurements feed into the occupancy indicators on station screens?

It's still surreal. I actually wrote a book.
